I wanted to learn to knit so had someone show me. Then I forgot how to cast on and was trying to figure it out by looking online.
My husband then helps me since I'm a bit ADD and sometimes my brain see's things backwards.
He then gets into and creates his own pattern that knitters have said only master knitters can do. He made himself a cool Christmas hat, wish I knew how to post pictures so you could see it. I usually can't see the vidoes but I'm going to try.

instead, she is about to face it now....the surgeons were relectant to do it when we were jws and she was so young.

I remember going through what you are. Many of us missed out on education, opportunities, wrecked families I used to have a website that stated the WT ruined my life and how. It is the anger we must experience to process this travesty of justice we have suffered.

Take your power back. They got nothing on you. When I went through the shunning era I would deliberatly aproach them every time. I would not allow them to behave that way.
Hold on to your dignity and I can gauretnee you that you can turn all this suffering into something beautiful. Forget the so called friends and family that turned on you. There is a world full of lovely people out there.

The dub explanation doesn't work. Jesus nor did anybody ever say "verily I say to you today," ... nobody talks that way it's stupid. One would have to assume that someone is too stupid to know that one is being spoken to at that moment.

Yes, Mrs Jones is right. The only way to deal with them is to avoid any and all references to anything important. Keep it simple, shallow. Only open the conversation up to deeper things when you are feeling a bit frisky and in the mood for fireworks and abuse.

has anyone on this board ever used john 5:23 when talking to jw's?.
unfortunately, one of my friends is currently in a "bible" study with the jw's (and has been since last year).
i asked my friend to ask the jw what john 5:23 means, so my friend did ask the jw who was conducting the "bible" study.
John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
John 5:19 Jesus therefore answered them, "Most assuredly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise.

If Jesus was just a man, or a recycled angel, or a created being of any kind, he COULD have acted on his own. The Bible says Jesus could do nothing separate from God, because He was of God.
One thing people often misunderstand and the JWs capitalized on is the erroneous view that all trinitarians are modalists.
Jesus is not God the Father. He is God the Son. The Holy Spirit is not some Star Wars "Active Force" but is God the Holy Spirit.
The Creator of the universe is more than a human mind is capable of comprehension. That facts stand that the Bible states Jesus is to be worshipped, that He is worthy of our worship and praise. Whether we believe it or not, it does state that.
There has been no other experience in all of my life that compares to the deep joy and peace that Jesus gives me when I sing praises to Him, worship Him, dedicate my every morning to Him..nothing like it in this world.
most of us, if not all, have grown up in a world where good and evil are opposites of each other.
not only are they opposites they are at war with one another.. old western movies depicted "good" as the fellow in the white hat while the "bad" guy wore the black hat.
the bible depicts evil as darkness and everything that is good as white.. these beliefs are so ingrained in us from very young ages.

I remember going through a post JW faze and realizing this aspect of JW indoctrination. I learned to find value in places I had previosly judged as having none.

there are an amazing number of people who believe that this is true - anyone have personal thoughts on this phenomenon?.
I have been fascinated by the paranormal all my life and have researched it from a young age.
Much of it is explained scientificaly, but there are certain aspects of paranormal research that can not be explained using known scientific methods.
The reason I am interested in it in the first place is due to my own sensitivities and dreams that are not explainable using known parameters. I now believe the ability of extra sensory type perceptions are a gift from God in myself.
When I was a child my family lived in a haunted house. My mother chalked it up to her budding involvment in the JWs. It fed the hysteria and paranoia of demons out to get her for wanting to be a JW.
Everyone could and did hear and sometimes see the beings in that house. We played it down and got used to the presence, but visitors who had no idea would often get very rattled. My best friend came over after school one day, heard someone in the house and asked me who was home, it was just us at the time.
I knew the sound of the different family members coming up the stairs, and I knew the sound of the nobody coming up the stairs and assured her we were alone. When no one showed after footsteps came up the stairs, down the hall to my bedroom, she started screaming and ran out of the house.
It was then that I realized that this was not normal. Maybe that experience started my interest in the paranormal. We lived in that house for about 5 years with many unexplained happenings.
EVP's are quite interesting. I haven't seen any scientific evidence that shows that they can all be explained. Every time humanity thinks they have made the ultimate scientific discovery, something even more fascinating comes along in the next decade.
So I'm keeping an open mind.
just head that my grandson has a bad kind of cancer.

Current Nature; useful to society, abundantly joyful, able to make lifelong friends, calm, peaceful, secure, forgiving, able to communicate well with people and children, enjoying the heck out of life!
